Have you ever thought about starting a business in the peak of a Global pandemic? Well, this is exactly what Craig Sher did when opening his Criminal Law practice in Melbourne. We were tasked with the job of creating the brand, building the website and starting SEO from scratch.
After 12 months of trusting us, and the process, Craig has been able to hire staff, open a second location and become a respected and recognised name in the criminal law space! We continue to work together to build his business and grow well beyond his original goals when starting with us.
Who is Sher Lawyers?
Craig Sher is the founder and owner of Sher Criminal Lawyers based in Melbourne CBD, Victoria. Wanting to build upon his passion for the law, Craig took the initiative to start his own specialist criminal law firm in the heart of Melbourne in 2020. Starting a new business at any time can be a scary concept but throw-in a global pandemic and a competitive industry and you almost have a nightmare. However, these factors did not deter Craig, if anything it ignited his passion and drive to make it the most successful business.
Sher Criminal Lawyers combine deep legal expertise with responsive client care, rich experience and an intricate understanding of the Victorian Justice System. A client-first approach ensures that client questions and inquiries are always answered in a timely fashion and the team is available on call 24/7.
It was time for a refresh
As this was a start up business, we needed to build out all assets for the company’s digital marketing. They had zero presence online so we had our work cut out for us if we wanted to compete with the big players of criminal law in Melbourne!
The website needed to be polished, professional and informative. It needed to establish a strong online presence to generate quality leads and enquiries in order to support the early stages of the business. The site structure was critical along with the content depth to ensure Sher could rank for prized keywords in Google to assist with growth plans – to build a team and eventually multiple locations across Victoria. The ultimate goal of the website was to build trust, validation and confidence for users.

The first step in the process was to create a brand for the newly established company. Sam, our Chief of Creative, was set the task of creating a logo that was professional, modern and appealing to a wide demographic. While we worked on the branding, our experienced law copywriter began writing the copy to be used on the website. During the initial strategy session, we identified the key service areas Craig wanted to focus on and so we ensured we produced highly rich content with a strong SEO focus. Allowing our law experienced copywriter take the reigns, we were able to nail the correct language the website copy needed.
Once we had a solid brand in place, including the logo and style guide, we were ready to design an epic website! Keeping in mind the brief of polished, professional and modern, our team delivered a website that had a competitive edge and took the business from start up to well established. The website was designed to be easily navigated and with clear CTA’s at every point.
Development of the site entailed building out all service pages and integrating with the chosen CRM. Due to having a solid design, the development of the site was quick and easy!
